“The Sacred Cow Has Long Died” is an art object that represents an assessment of the legal field of modern Russia. It is a cow’s skull with articles from the Constitution of the Russian Federation written on it that are especially violated.
In any state, the Constitution plays the same metaphysical role as the cow in Hinduism. Violations of the Constitution are comparable to consuming tabooed food; both processes lead to the degradation of the transgressor within the existing paradigm.
